Also, love the Berserk reference. That story of battling the forces of darkness and the fate that binds us, is perfect for the literary climate in which we find ourselves.
What is interesting about Berserk is that the characters within its world are subject to the flow of the current of casualty, but still retain their own free will. A framing that I don’t think is all that far off of our reality
